Pyotr Olegovich Aven was born on March 16, 1955, in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from Moscow State University in 1977 with a degree in economics and later earned a Ph.D. in Economics in 1980.
Rise to Success
Aven's career began in academia, working as a senior researcher at the All-Union Institute for Systems Studies at the USSR Academy of Sciences. He later served as the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations for the Russian Federation from 1991 to 1992. In 1994, he became a shareholder and President of Alfa-Bank Russia, a role he held until 2011. Aven also held leadership positions in ABH Holdings S.A. and AlfaStrakhovanie Group. He joined the board of LetterOne Group in 2013, an international investment business, contributing to its expansion.
