Early Life
Michal Strnad was born on August 4, 1992, in Chrudim, Czech Republic. He comes from an entrepreneurial family. His father, Jaroslav Strnad, founded Excalibur Army in 1995, which later became the basis for the Czechoslovak Group (CSG). Michal developed a keen interest in business and industry from a young age, with early exposure to the family business.
Rise to Success
Strnad joined his father's company in 2011, gradually taking on managerial roles within the growing holding. In 2013, he was appointed CEO of the emerging group, and in 2015, became the Chairman of the Board of Directors. In 2018, he became the direct owner of CSG after his father transferred ownership. Under Michal's leadership, CSG transformed into a mature corporation with strong management and well-developed processes, maintaining the flexibility of a family business.
Key Business Strategies
Strnad's primary strategy involves building CSG as a global industrial brand. This includes strategic acquisitions and partnerships in EU and NATO countries. He has expanded CSG through acquisitions in Italy, Spain, and the USA. In 2024, CSG acquired The Kinetic Group for over $2 billion, making CSG the largest producer of small-caliber ammunition in the Western world. He also focuses on innovation and efficiency, seeking to capitalize on market trends and strengthen CSG's foothold in key markets.
Philanthropy
Strnad's CSG has also been involved in partnerships and support in the field of sports, including a partnership with the Czech Olympic Team concluded in September 2025.
