Early Life and Education
Gerry Cardinale was born on May 8, 1967, in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He pursued higher education at Harvard University, earning an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies, and at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, where he obtained a Master of Philosophy in politics and political theory. During his time at Harvard, he was a member of the varsity heavyweight rowing team, and he also participated in the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race.
Rise to Success
Cardinale began his professional career at Goldman Sachs in 1992 and transferred to the firm's Merchant Banking Division in 1994. He was elected partner in 2004. He worked with entrepreneurs and family business owners to build several multi-billion-dollar companies. In 2014, he founded RedBird Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on building high-growth companies. RedBird manages approximately $14 billion of capital.
