Federico De Nora was born in Milan, Italy, in 1968. He is the grandson of Oronzio De Nora, the founder of Industrie De Nora S.p.A. His career began in 1988 in the corporate planning and control department of Norfin S.r.l. In 1993, he joined De Nora as a director of planning and organization, rising to executive vice president in 1998. From 1997 to 2005, he served as the chairman of Flynor Jet S.p.A.
