Denis Shtengelov was born in 1972 in Gubino, Tomsk region, Russia. His entrepreneurial journey began after graduating from Tomsk State University in 1994, with a small wholesale trade in raw seeds.
Rise to Success
In 1997, Shtengelov acquired his first confectionery factory in Yashkino, Kemerovo region. KDV Group expanded rapidly, capitalizing on the Russian market's demand for snack foods, even during economic downturns. The company’s success was driven by a business model that included controlling businesses across the supply chain and offering well-priced products. KDV's expansion continued with the acquisition of several companies. Shtengelov also owns the Yarche! supermarket chain.
