Analjit Singh was born on January 11, 1954, in New Delhi, India. He is the son of Bhai Mohan Singh, the founder of Ranbaxy Laboratories. Singh attended The Doon School and later pursued economics at Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
Rise to Success
Singh's entrepreneurial journey began in 1982 when he founded Max India. Over the years, he has built the Max Group into a significant conglomerate with diverse interests. Singh’s strategic moves include entering and exiting various joint ventures. He sold his stake in Hutchison Max to Li Ka-shing and made an early investment in India's telecom sector. He also served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Vodafone India from 2012 to 2018, playing a key role during the company's retrospective taxation controversy.
