Ali Metin Kazanci

Early Life

Ali Metin Kazancı was born in Rize, Turkey, in 1935. He began his business career in the 1950s, starting with paraffin and oil sales. His father, a small business owner, instilled the values of hard work and perseverance.

Rise to Success

Kazancı founded Watt Electric Motor Factory in 1968, which became the basis for the Aksa Group. In the 1980s, he entered the generator manufacturing business, and expanded into power plant construction and electricity generation in the 1990s. He consolidated his various companies under Kazancı Holding in 1994. Aksa Energy, a key subsidiary, has grown into a leading energy producer in Turkey, with power plants in multiple countries. Kazancı's focus extended to natural gas distribution in the early 2000s, and electricity distribution and sales in 2010.

Kazancı’s key strategies involved vertical and horizontal integration in the energy sector. He expanded into related sectors such as agriculture and tourism. Aksa Power Generation has been a major exporter, and the company has established offices in numerous countries.
